The work
What We Do
Black Widow is a full service pavement maintenance contractor. The work:
- Sealcoating, and hot rubber crack filling at 400 degrees
- Asphalt repair: saw-cut and full-depth patching, potholes, sunken aprons
- New asphalt, overlays and small lot paving
- Parking lot striping, ADA stalls and access aisles, fire lanes and arrows
- Catch basins repaired, rebuilt and set new
- Concrete: loading dock aprons, dumpster pads, curb and gutter, sidewalks and driveways
- Running tracks, tennis and basketball courts
- Commercial snow removal through the winter

Grant started in 2022 with a drum sprayer, three 55-gallon barrels of sealer picked up from Menards, and a storage unit to keep them in. He brushed three or four driveways by hand that first summer, and by the end of it he had made money on it.
By the third season the rig was an 850-gallon sprayer with a nine-foot spray bar, a hot rubber melter and two F-250s, putting down about 1,500 gallons of sealer a week. One job that year was 19 driveways for a homeowners association, done in two days.

What We Run
- A sealcoat tank and spray rig on a flatbed
- A direct-fire crack sealing kettle, hot rubber at 400 degrees
- A Bobcat skid steer with a bucket
- A dump trailer and a flatbed truck
- Forms and finishing tools for concrete
Recent Work
Sealcoating is the core of it. Asphalt and concrete both, so patching, sealing, striping and a concrete pour are priced and scheduled together. These are jobs from the 2026 season.
Where We Work
Based in Eau Claire. We go west to Menomonie, north to Chetek, and east to Stanley. If you're not sure whether we cover your town, check the service area or call and ask.
